Entity documents required for opening a business account

At Capitol Bank, we are eager to help you with your business needs, beginning with the opening of your business deposit account. Depending on how your entity is organized, certain entity documents are required. Below we have listed the documents that are required for opening a business account.

Corporation


  1. Copy of the filed Articles of Incorporation
  2. Bylaws (if you don’t have Bylaws, we would require something in writing to indicate there are no Bylaws in existence)
  3. Tax ID number

Partnership


  1. Partnership Agreement
  2. Tax ID number

LLC


  1. Copy of the filed Articles of Organization for the Limited Liability Company
  2. Operating Agreement (if you don’t have an Operating Agreement, we would require something in writing to indicate there is not an Operating Agreement in existence)
  3. Tax ID number (unless sole member LLC and you use a SSN)

Unincorporated Association


  1. Copy of minutes taken at a meeting
  2. Letter on letterhead of organization indicating who is authorized to open bank accounts and transact on the account (including name and title of authorized signers)
  3. Tax ID number
